Y'all, yesterday we reached a big milestone on this blog...300 FOLLOWERS! I know blogging isn't all about the numbers, but this little blog has come a long way and it is all thanks to you guys. I feel so blessed to have all of you on board with me during this adventure and I just wanted to say a big thank you, thank you, thank you!
In order to celebrate and further say thank you, I will be hosting a 300 follower celebration giveaway. This past weekend Cody played in the Texas Firefighter Olympics. His department has participated before, but never in a sport he was interested in. So, this year when a good buddy of his talked about starting up a sand volleyball team, Cody was really excited.

Now, onto last weekends recap...
This past weekend Cody played in the Texas Firefighter Olympics. His department has participated before, but never in a sport he was interested in. So, this year when a good buddy of his talked about starting up a sand volleyball team, Cody was really excited.
It's kind of funny, but the youth group we used to work for was the camp sand volleyball champion three years in a row, and while we all acted like it was no big deal, we were super proud of it. Cody always played on the team with our youth group, so he was more than willing to play with the guys of his department.
Needless to say, it's July and we're in Texas so it was stinkin' hot. We spent almost 8 hours in over 100 degree weather, but it was totally worth it to see the guys win the silver medal in their division. I tried to be relaxed and not my overly competitive self, but once the boys made it to the medal round, I was all about it. I won't lie, there was definitely some trash talking happening on my end. Oops.

The Olympics was just another example of why I love the firefighting community. So much fun to get together with other couples and families that are similar to ours. Now if I can just convince someone to move the Olympics to October instead of July...
